The diol ligand is recommended for the analysis of polar and hydrophilic compounds that have limited or no retention on alkyl phases like C8 and C18. Ideal for LCMS use since ion-pairing reagents are not required, and the high organic mobile phases result in efficient solvent evaporation for increased sensitivity.
